Tiger Woods plays a practice round in Southern Hills – SABC News

Tiger Woods played a practice round Thursday at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the venue for next month’s PGA Championship.

Golf Digest reported that Woods intends to play in the second major of the May 19-22 season barring any physical setbacks.

Woods won the 2007 PGA Championship at Southern Hills.

Woods caddyed for the lap around the course Thursday with Southern Hills head pro Cary Cozby.

Woods is 47th at the Masters, his first official event since falling in Los Angeles in February 2021, which left him with a serious leg injury that nearly ended his career.

Woods had previously committed to play at The Open in St Andrews in July and at the JP McManus Pro-Am in Ireland 10 days earlier.

However, he has considered playing both the PGA Championship and the US Open in June.

He entered both majors, a formality to give himself a chance to play.

After Tulsa, Woods travels to Las Vegas this weekend to host Tiger Jam.

It’s the annual fundraiser for his charity, the Tiger Woods Foundation.
