A UK couple has raised R3.5 billion after winning the country’s largest EuroMillions lotto ticket. Joe and Jess Thwaite have been playing lotto for over seven years and have big plans for their billionth night.
Although Joe has already left his job, Jess is not sure if he will ever do it again as a salon owner.
The couple is dreaming of winning the R3.5b lotto
The Gloucester couple may have declared themselves richer than most celebrities after earning £ 184,262,899 (about R3.5 billion) in lottery tickets.
Jess, 44, a mother of two and a daughter of 49-year-old Joe, says the money will eventually give her family “time to dream.”
Joe, who has two adult children out of wedlock, has already left his job as a communications marketing manager.
Jess, on the other hand, was not sure if she would ever get along with her sister again.
Joe found out he had bought it winning lottery tickets on Tuesday last week after getting up to walk in the dog at 5am.
Speaking BBChe said he “did not know what to do” when he found out how much lottery money they had won.
“I can’t go back to sleep. I don’t want to wake Jess so I can sleep there for something like that forever.”
According to Joe, he also spends a little time looking for a home without a budget – and he likes it very much. After his wife woke up, he shared the message that as expected it was unbelievable.
When everything was done, they called a lotto board to confirm everything.
Convinced that they had won, the couple said that they would take care of their home. They will also go on a family vacation to Hawaii
“Our two kids often talk about going to Hawaii. I don’t know why but now we can make that dream come true.”
