The Johannesburg-Opel improved Crossland compact SUV is set to hit the South African showroom this month, and importers have just announced the price and specifications of the new model.

Customers can choose from two specification grades out of three model derivatives. The range begins with the edition model R324900, which features a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated 3-cylinder engine, offers only 60kW and 118Nm, and is combined with five. -Speed ​​manual gearbox.

Opel also offers an entry-edition trim grade with a more powerful (81kW, 205Nm) 1.2-liter turbocharged engine. The price is R374 900 and it comes standard with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This engine and gearbox combo is also available in the more luxurious elegance trim grades sold on the R399900.

However, there is bad news for diesel fans as the 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine in the pre-renovation lineup appears to have failed.

Opel’s new face

As a mid-life model change of the first model, the SUV has redesigned the front and rear styling while maintaining the familiar shape. It’s a particularly distinctive prepayment to see the headlights and grilling process inspired by Opel’s new visor.

At the back end, Crossland receives a new dark shade of taillights and a glossy black tailgate surface. This is available in combination with the black roof option.

The cabin has the latest 17.8 cm touchscreen infotainment system mounted on turbocharged models while maintaining a familiar look.

Walk the range

The Base 1.2 edition comes with a small 12.7cm infotainment system, and other standard features include manual air conditioning, front electric window, electric mirror, rear park assist, cruise control, ESP stability control, and hill. Includes start assist, 6 airbags.

The 1.2T (with turbocharger) edition model adds many additional features such as a 16-inch alloy (which replaces the base model’s 15-inch covered steelie), a rear electric window, and a 180-degree parking camera.

Best of all, the out-of-range 1.2T elegance features automatic climate control, an up-level front console with storage compartment, traffic sign recognition, front pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, and low-speed collision mitigation braking.

All models are sold with a 3 year / 120,000 km warranty and a 3 year / 45000 km service plan.
