The United States has imposed sanctions on two Russian companies and a North Korean organization for transferring sensitive items to North Korea’s missile program, the foreign ministry said Thursday.

The Russian entities were named Ardis Group of Companies LLC (Ardis Group) and PFK Profpodshipnik LLC.

The sanctioned North Korean entity has been named the Second Foreign Office of the Academy of Sciences.

In addition, Igor Alexandrovich Michurin, a Russian citizen, and Ri Shung Chol, a North Korean citizen, were also sanctioned, the foreign ministry said.

The announcement of the sanctions came on the same day North Korea announced it was testing a new high-performance intercontinental ballistic missile.

Ned Price, a Foreign Ministry spokesman, said: “These measures are part of our ongoing efforts to hamper the DPRK’s ability to advance its missile program and highlight Russia’s negative role as a proliferation of programs of concern on the world stage. referring to North Korea in the initials of its official name.

The United States also sanctioned Zhengzhou Nanbei Instrument Equipment Co Ltd for supplying Syria with equipment controlled by a non-proliferation regime known as the Australia Group.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the sanctions imposed on the Chinese company confirm Beijing’s shortcomings in implementing export controls and non-proliferation.
