The body of a 65-year-old pensioner from Riverside, in QwaQwa, Free State was found mutilated in her garage on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Phumelelo Dhlamini said the deceased Modiehi Mokoena was found by her husband Motsumi Mokoena.
Dhlamini says Mokoena came home and found his son in the garage, where he was stuffing his mother’s remains in a plastic bag.
Dlamini explains: “When his father tried to inquire what was going on, the son took a knife and stabbed him in the chest, after which he was admitted to Manapo Hospital with severe stab wounds. The suspect has disappeared and is still at large. A murder case and an attempted murder case have been opened and are being investigated. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect can call Detective Lieutenant Colonel Japhta Milela on 079 889 3311.”
