On Wednesday, June 15, parliament will host a DA debate on fuel price hikes. The DA demands that the ANC government reduce fuel prices by cutting a 33% tax on fuel.
The DA has announced that it will formally submit proposals aimed at reducing more than 6 R6 taxes and levies per liter of fuel.
Fuel prices rose in early June. The price of 95-octane unleaded gasoline rose by 2.33 rupees per liter, while the 93-octane unleaded gasoline rose by 2.43 rupees.
The rises were smaller than they feared after the National Treasury one extension of the reduction in the general fuel tax.
